Rode my bike in 34F to the Ramrod last night -- hung out there from 11:30 to 1:00. Lots of eye candy, but very little socialization. I was talking to one of the bartenders (big guy with LOTS of tattoos), name is Mike. He used to be a member of "The Brotherhood" (a gay leather/levi bike club) -- seems that the club scene in Boston has completely died. This seems to be the trend -- now that our lifestyles are "acceptable", the politicial purpose of the Club scene is all but gone. I can't help but think a lot of the clubs have vanished due to the "Leather Contest Circuit"; I know that it's not AIDS as much any longer.

One part of me wants to start up a club and become politicially active here; the other part is more pessimistic and wants someone ELSE to do the work (and it is a lot of work!) There is an upcoming meeting in May 2003 among the leather community... I will attend. At least the dress code is still enforced in the back room (back bar) at the Ramrod. I for one am VERY happy to see that! Check out the Ramrod at http://www.ramrodboston.com/ramrod/ (some of the old school leather guard [yes, I am part of that group] stopped going to the Ramrod due to the addition of "Machine" a disco in the celler (which, BTW is completely isolated from the Ramrod! -- I don't understand why they would mind that; provided the two clubs were isolated!) Whatever... more on this later.

Hanging out at the apartment today, thinking of the past while working on my laptop -- I'm playing cassette tapes by Val (my lover 1991-1992). Val used to live in Wareham, MA -- I've tried to look him up, but have had no luck so far. He does not know I've moved here. I've been thinking of the Multicom-4 party era, the first few years of RCL (when it was "the general store for leather") and when Val, Walt and I lived at 18 Sidney Street, and Jay Bibby lived downstairs at 20 Sindey Street. What wonderful times those were... *sigh* It's a beautiful sunny day here! I think I'm going for a bike ride and going to fly one of my kites on the shore today. :-)

Song of the day: Stronger Than That
Written by: Alan Tarney (1989)
Album: Stronger (1989)

Well I heard you weren't staying
Heard you weren't staying around
That someone has gotten to you
Something 'bout a new kid in town

Well stranger things have happened
Stranger things have happened in love
But the more I think about
The more I see that you are a victim of

Well don't believe everything they say
There're only jealous of you
How people when they don't know the truth
Don't ever let them get to you

My love is stronger than that
My love is poetry in motion
My love is deeper than that
My love is deeper than the ocean

Well if anyone should harm you
Anyone should get in your way
And you need someone to talk to
Please call me right away

Let them all listen
Listen to the new kid in town
It's the same old story
The story's been around and around

So don't believe everything they say
There're only jealous of you
How people when they don't know the truth
Don't ever let them tell you what to do

My love is stronger than that
My love is poetry in motion
My love is deeper than that
My love is deeper than the ocean

So don't believe everything they say
There're only jealous of you
How people when they don't know the truth
Don't ever let them tell you what to do

My love is stronger than that
My love is poetry in motion
My love is deeper than that
My love is deeper than the ocean
