Thursday I popped on the subway to Mississauga and spent the better half of a day with Robyn seeing her home town and helping her plan out her upcoming trip to London. When I returned to Toronto, I took my buddy John out to dinner and skidaddled down to Toronto Union Station to check in for the big train... I checked into the lounge, chose my lunch/dinner seating and boarded the train. After stowing my luggage and shown my room, many of us went to the observation dome car at the rear of the train for champagne and pate as we headed out west... On board the train we were given a quick run-down of how things worked, what amenities were at our fingertips, when and where the entertainment would be and then I went to bed. The food was great, and the staff was even better! There was virtually no mobile phone signal, let alone WiFi/internet access until we pulled into a small station (Sioux Lookout), where I piggy-backed internet for about five minutes to grab my e-mail on Friday night before bed. We pulled into Winnipeg at 10am (two hours late) on Saturday morning and I met up with the boys here.
Last night (Saturday) I did a saline demo for a medium-sized group here. I only knew four people at the event, the remaining dozen people were all new faces and were full of questions.
Today, I'll head to the winter carnival here. The temperature goes anywhere from -14c/7F (high) to -28C/-18F (low) -- although I haven't yet added photos of Winnipeg to my photo gallery yet, I have uploaded my photos and some videos from my trip so far at photos.chazhome.com -- check 'em out!
Tomorrow I re-board the train to head to Vancouver, another 48 hours on the train, being wined, dined and rocked gently to sleep at night...
