Well, once I'm done with work today, I'll be packing for yet another trip to New York City. I wish it was for happy reasons, but it's not... My dear friend Jeff Arnold of the Empire City Motorcycle Club (E.C.M.C.) passed away from a heart attack on October 15th, 2004 and I will be an usher at his memorial service on Saturday...

Funeral Services for Mr. Jeffery Jay Arnold

Jeffery Jay Arnold of Long Island City, Queens NY on Friday died October 15, 2004. He is survived by his partner of 14 years Mr. Paul Martin

Born in Newark, Ohio on August 4th 1946 Mr. Arnold was predeceased by his Father Harold Atlee Arnold and Mother Anita Helen Hollister Arnold. Mr. Arnold attended Ohio State University, graduating on December 14, 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He was a teacher before relocating to New York, and taking a position with Peerless Importors as a Sales Representative. Mr. Arnold was very involved in the Liquor Salesmen’s Union Local#2. He was the Shop Stewart for The Merchants on Premise Sales Division of Peerless Importers. He worked effortlessly for all

An active motorcyclist, Mr. Arnold was a member of the Empire City Motorcycle Club, which was founded in New York City, October 1964. This year, he was active in assisting the Club’s celebration of the 40th Anniversary. Mr. Arnold held a number of Club Offices, including President, Road Captain and Treasurer during his 13 years as a member. Over the last 40 years, the Empire City Motorcycle Club has held an annual holiday “Toys for Tots” Dinner to benefit the Leake & Watts Specialized Foster Care Program. During the last five years Mr. Arnold was the Club’s coordinator and chief organizing force. This year's 41st “Toys for Tots” Dinner will be held in Mr. Arnolds honor.

You could count on Mr. Arnold suggesting a good wine or playing Wagner’s The Ring Ride of the Valkyries as he rode off on his motorcycle or even seeing him in NYC’s Pride March with the Purple Teletubby riding as passenger.

Funeral services for Mr. Arnold will be held 1 PM Saturday November 6, 2004 at the LGBT Community Center 208 13th Street (Garden Entrance), New York, NY. A reception will follow the service at Raymond’s Café located at 88 Seventh Avenue, New York, NY between 15th and 16th Street.
