Keep Walking

Kites & Bikes!

At 14:30, my new kite arrived in the mail at work! I still had three hours of meetings and work ahead of me -- and all I wanted to do was go flying!! When 17:30 rolled around, I went immediately to Wollaston Beach to test the new kite! She launched perfectly into the air. I was performing dives and turns right from the start! I love my new kite!

It was a beautiful day out!! Mid to upper 80s. I didn't want to stop flying, but I still had things to do... After finishing up (around 18:30), I went home to change for my workout. Still being nice outside, I took the long way to the gym (through Blue Hills Reservation [park].) What a wonderful view of the city of Boston from the overlook!! (Click image for a larger view.)

After my bike ride, I worked out for the next two hours at the gym. (It sucked to be inside on such a nice day.) When my workout was done, it was still warm out. I didn't want to go home so soon (it was 21:00.) -- I drive into Boston for a couple of sodas at The Alley and to catch up with the BPP folks. I haven't been out on a Tuesday night since the fall of '03.

All in all, it was a great evening...

I read an article (Hybrid Cars Don't Live Up to Mileage Claims) on Slashdot about hybrid cars that has me nervous about my Toyota Prius, which should be coming in sometime later this year... One guy is so upset about his Honda, he started his own BLOG named HYBRID BUZZ!, which has been documenting his fight with Honda. Oh dear... I hope Toyota lives up to their claims; otherwise, I'll be pissed!!

My bike has been getting about 38 MPG, and that's mostly stop & go traffic. When I make my Rochester trip in two weeks, I will document my mileage better to see how it's doing.
