Keep Walking

(no subject)

Kinda interesting commute today! I decided to leave my car at the Park & Ride in Braintree last night and took the subway home. I wanted to see what the commute via rail would be this morning. Although the ride was nice (not packed) and I could read the paper rather than fight traffic, my normal auto/motorcycle commute down I-93 takes an average of 21 minutes --- the subway took 47 minutes!! Now I'm doing a cost analysis to determine which is cheaper. (I'm really a geek, aren't I?!?) I would prefer to take the subway if I can... it's safer and it's environmentally friendly (compared to an automobile!)

Now, my friends Gary & Mitch (who should be going to Saint Maarten with me) have sent e-mail stating that _they_ have not obtained tickets yet!! (groan...) So I'm putting on my travel agent's hat and searching for low fares for them [they are going to be leaving from Florida, which is pretty much as close as you're going to get to Saint Maarten in the USA!] -- but the tickets are not cheap!

Anyways, tonight is the slashdot meeting ( ) -- last month was fun, I hope this month is just as good! (I'm going to bring my camera to take some photos of the group!)
