The days of reckoning...

It's always rough to go through your entire life's possessions -- it truly is a snapshot of what you've done with your life and what you've accomplished (or not). I carried down boxes of 'things' I brought from New York when I first came to Boston from the attic and began sorting them out. It's something I've been fearing for some time, as there will be all sorts of memories -- good and bad...

There was a box chock-full of appreciation awards for myself, Rochester Custom Leathers and Multicom-4 -- all of these things trigger so many memories. Goofy little things that have followed me throughout my entire life, and other odds and ends that I have accumulated over the years. Each trinket a memory of some event or person.

I've been sorting things into four piles:

1) Pack it to move to New York
2) Donate or give it away
3) Long term storage
4) Throw away/recycle.

The piles of things have managed to put me in a melancholy mood. I think back and miss the good times from the last 25 years. Then I find all the funeral cards and the trinkets that represent other people's lives who had died over the past 25 years... :-(

I feel old.

Today's joyful song is: Get Set Go - I Hate Everyone

Wow... Walt the way I remember him. Come to think of it, you the way I remember you as well.

I get so wrapped up in the moment sometimes I forget the old friends, and the old times. So let me take this time out to wish you a happy holiday season, although I suspect you'll be too busy to celebrate much.

I think I should take some time and set aside some cash to visit old places (Boston, Key West) and the places old friends have moved to (Palm Springs, Buffalo, Toronto). Seems like just the other day I moved to Baltimore, but it's been over ten years.

I hate how quickly time goes.

Look at you guys!!
Sweetie...what a year of changes...these pictures took me back. That was when I met you and Walter!! For me, those years were some of my happiest.

I think NYC will be a great match for you!! And the East Side has always been my favorite! Enjoy this new adventure!

Love you, my friend!!

Wow, that brings back memories. (Of when I still had all my hair.)

Don't think that's 1998 though -- I grew my mustache in 1997, and I didn't have it in that picture.

Whatever happened to Walter?

It could be 1997. It was the year we rented the scissor-lift for the parade, but the transmission failed a we drove it to the Liberty Pole.

Walt is in Bergin. I will be with him Christmas Day and a selected day afterwards as well. I see him several times a year and we chat often.

Re: Your move

Hi Pierre!

Thanks for your comment -- kind of good timing, as I was just looking at photos of you, Iain and myself flying kites a few months ago!

How things change so quickly...

I'm in New York City this week preparing my new room for the movers...

I hope your holidays are merry!
