Oh shit -- what's happening NOW?

I've been having some stinging in my urethra for the past few days; which I've pretty much chalked up to my catheter. On Monday, I had a low-grade fever all day, so my doctor decided to change the prophylactic antibiotic to something stronger. I took my first dose last night in lieu of my former antibiotic. About nine hours later at 3:00am, I woke up (again from an erection); but this time something was different. The catheter didn't sting and there was a crapload of pus and goo on the tip of my cock. Obviously I had a UTI (urinary tract infection) and the new antibiotic was doing it's thing. At first I felt relief, but then I went into a panic, as I saw that the lower half of my urethra (where we performed the meatotomy) appeared to be open. Now I can only see about 5mm of the tip of my cock, so my mind raced wondering what the rest looks like under the bandage! Going back to sleep was difficult -- and when I did, I had lots of nightmares. I've added 2cm of Coban to my compression bandage (making the compression bandage longer) to include the bottom half of my urethra in hope that the tissue will fuse back together. When it's held in place with the Coban, it looks great -- but my fear is that the infection made the edges of the tissue smooth and incapable of healing together. Also, with the extra bandage in place, if there is an active infection in there, it could be "trapped" in place. I took photos and sent them and my concerns to my doctor. Wound management is not my speciality, so I'm playing it by ear until I hear from my doctor. I shouldn't search the web for direction, I keep fiding sites like this -- Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Other than that, healing appears to be going well in other areas. It's going through it's smelly period right now. Yuck! I'm not posting photos at this point until things heal up. I don't think it's too much for me to ask for to ask for a "normal" clean-cut american cock...

Well, see what happens when "normal" isn't normal? If Americans weren't so freaked about explaining how to wash one's penis correctly to their male progeny, we wouldn't *have* this problem.

You're preaching to the choir!

I remember when one of my friends told me about his (then infant) son's circumcision. We discussed the reason (not religious) since I brought up the fact that it's now considered unnecessary surgery. Basically, it came down to the fact he would have felt uncomfortable showing his son how to clean it when he didn't know firsthand himself. It's amazing the lengths people will go to for "convenience."

I think RIC (routine infant circumcision) should be outlawed. It's simply not right. I have been very vocal speaking about this to many people, as well as on Yahoo groups and in my own blog ( http://mc4bbs.livejournal.com/102968.html for example.) If someone wants to be circumcised as an adult, more power to them -- but it's important to have that choice. If your friend felt uncomfortable explaining how to CLEAN his own penis, just imagine the lack of father-to-son talks NOT to follow about STD prevention, pregnancy, etc., etc. We live in a pretty fucked up world...

On a lighter note, hope you heal up nicely, Chuck!

I'm hoping that I will! There is a 15% chance that I might have caught this in time to get the meatotomy to close by itself without further surgery.

On another note, results from my recent poll (about you) is looking pretty damn good!!
